The Epilepsy Community started as a Whatsapp group in early 2024, designed to link up everyone with epilepsy across London. We are not in conflict with any earlier systems, but need to make sure that in this world of very efficient and quality technology and communication, we all know each other. Teaming up we can enjoy contacts and have a major effect on future worries and attitudes towards epilepy. Seizures, or epileptic fits as they were known, occur in many different ways and under many different influences and circumstances. Therefore, very difficult to summarise, but definitely something that is too misunderstood by most of society, so an opportunity to have a major influence on the fears and discrimination in society that has arisen due to this lack of experience and awareness.
